Getting a tattoo can bring a mix of excitement and nerves. The good news is: you don't need a complicated routine before your appointment. A few practical steps are enough to make your session feel smoother and more comfortable.
TAKE CARE OF THE BASICS
Sleep as well as you can, drink water, and eat a proper meal before coming in. Nothing too dramatic, just support your body so it feels steady during the session.
SKIP ALCOHOL THE NIGHT BEFORE
It's not about being strict. Alcohol thins the blood, and that can make the tattoo process less ideal for your skin. Arriving with your body in a calm, neutral state helps a lot.
KEEP YOUR SKIN SIMPLE
No shaving, no exfoliating, no creams on the day of the appointment. Clean, untouched skin is perfect. I'll take care of any prep at the studio.
WEAR COMFORTABLE, PRACTICAL CLOTHING
Choose clothes that give easy access to the area we'll be tattooing. Loose pieces and light layers tend to work best, they will keep you comfortable and make positioning easier. Also, don't forget 99% of the time we work with black ink, so try not to wear white or very light clothing.
BRING THE SMALL THINGS THAT HELP YOU FEEL OKAY.
A bottle of water, a snack, maybe headphones or a book.
This is not essential, but very helpful if your session is longer or if you get hungry easily.
COME AS YOU ARE
You don't have to "prepare" yourself in any special way. Just arrive relaxed, having eaten, and with clothes that work for the placement. Once you are here, we'll go through everything together at a steady, comfortable pace.
